My friend Joseph Tay turns 23 today. In celebration of his birth and to replace the multiple plastic bags he uses to store his stuff in his sling bag, Gideon, Danny and I decided to make some drawstring pouches for him.
The first hurdle was getting Gid to sit down to sketch ideas
Initial pencil work by Gid
Inking! (done with fabric markers at a random bench we found in Spotlight)
Assembling the pouches using my sewing robot and some sewsimple glue to stop the fraying. Meng taught me how to insert the ropes and told me that he’ll find a use for the excess. Hmm…
The final product! (I was super excited at this point ho ho!)
We decided it would be a good idea to blindfold Jo whilst we swapped the bags during the car ride to dinner
Have a wonderful birthday Joseph, thanks for being a wonderful friend!
